It has reached the point in the NFL calendar where players are obligated to attend their team’s facility for minicamp practices, yet several stars will not be doing that amid unresolved contract disputes.
Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt, Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin and Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson are all reportedly set to skip mandatory minicamp. All three are liable to be fined by their respective teams.
Watt, a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro and the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year, is entering the final year of his contract and is seeking an extension from the Steelers. Watt is due to receive a $21.05 million base salary from Pittsburgh in 2025.

He has 108 sacks in his decorated career, registering 11.5 last year while leading the league with six forced fumbles.
That sack tally was six fewer than Hendrickson, who led the NFL with 17.5 in 2024.
Hendrickson is due a $15.8 million base salary in the final year of his contract and has made his dissatisfaction with the lack of progress towards a new deal very public, insisting he will not play in 2025 without a new deal.
The #Bengals and reigning NFL sack leader Trey Hendrickson have made no progress on a multiyear contract extension and he’s not expected to report for minicamp today, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Commanders star McLaurin has not made such a pronouncement, with his contract situation somewhat more under the radar.
He too is heading into the final year of his contract and is due a $15.5 million base salary from Washington.
McLaurin, a third-round pick in 2019, has not missed a game since the 2020 season.

The former Ohio State wideout has recorded 1,000 yards receiving in each of the last five campaigns.
McLaurin went for 1,096 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2024 as Washington reached the NFC Championship Game for the first time since the 1991 season.
