The key to having a successful Ultimate Team throughout the game cycle generally starts with an effective budget team.

La Liga is one of the most popular leagues to build your starter team with, due to the number of quality players across the division as well as its popularity within the real world.

And now, ahead of the full launch of FIFA 23, 101 highlighted the best cheap La Liga stars on Ultimate Team this year.

Eduardo Camavinga - CM

Seemingly a must-buy if you are running a La Liga side, Real Madrid starlet Eduardo Camavinga has been given a solid all round card, although he is lacking any standout stats.

With high 70s in key tackling, passing and dribbling stats, as well as four star skill moves and 83 stamina, he can be a real box-to-box option for starter squads, though you may find his 62 finishing more suitable for a defensive role.

Inaki Williams - ST

Every year, Inaki Williams is a thorn in FUT players’ side, and this year looks to be no different. Though he is now Ghaniain and harder to link, in a La Liga side that should be no problem.

His key stat, unsurprisingly, is his pace. He has been given an electrifying 93 acceleration and 94 sprint speed, making him one of the fastest players on the game, while he also has 83 strength and 4 star skill moves, making him an round threat.

Like all budget players, he has some drawbacks, and in Williams’ case it is the 2 star weak foot that could be a problem, forcing you to shoot on his favoured right foot. If you can work with that, however, he could be a gem once more this year.

Ansu Fati - LW

The Barcelona wunderkind has seen injuries mar his real life progression and that is reflected in his card on FIFA 23, with not much change to last campaign’s version,

88 pace is the standout statistic for the Spaniard, while he also boasts 82 dribbling including 89 agility. He will not be much use defensively, with just a meagre 30 in that stat, but his electric speed and close dribbling will allow him to be a major threat in the opponents box for your side.

Giovani Lo Celso - CM

The Tottenham loanee has been given a strong card on his return to Villarreal, with the Argentine having just one set of stats below 70 (68 defending) but his attacking offerings more than make up for it.

Lo Celso offers 84 passing and dribbling, as well as 71 pace, while his 82 shot power and 73 finishing means that he could become a pivotal player in plenty of starter sides.

Luiz Felipe - CB

If you are in the market for a central defender, then Luiz Felipe could be a good option for your starter team. The defender moved to La Liga from Serie A over the summer, and has been handed a strong card to start the new game cycle.

The Betis centre-back has been given 72 pace, along with 80 defending, including 82 interceptions and 81 sliding tackling. 68 dribbling and 61 passing are okay but not great stats, meaning that you may wish to move on from the defender a few weeks into the game cycle, but he will certainly be a solid starter option.

Sergi Darder - CM

Given a major pace boost this year, Sergi Darder is suddenly one of the best options in central midfield across the division. The Spaniard has been given 82 pace as well as 82 passing, and goes one better with his 83 dribbling.

He has a total of five in-game stats below 70, and possesses 74 in both the shooting and defending categories, as well as 77 physical including 86 stamina.

In short, he could prove to be a perfect all round midfield workhorse in the opening weeks of the game cycle.

Rodrygo - RW

On the pricier end of the budget spectrum, 81 rated Real Madrid winger Rodrygo offers plenty to get excited about. His 88 pace is combined with 84 dribbling and four star skill moves and weak foot, making him a very strong option for starter teams.

His awful 42 strength means that he will be best suited to making runs in behind the defence rather than outmuscling anyone, but with 80 finishing he should be able to find the back of the net on a regular basis should you pick him up.
