Upon securing his second goal of the afternoon, it marked the 16th consecutive season in which Ronaldo scored 20+ club goals.
Despite turning 37-years-old a little over two months ago, the Manchester United star continues a goalscoring legacy that perhaps some would not have expected to witness despite the way he captivated Sir Alex Ferguson while still at Sporting CP as a young 18-year-old.
Though this is his lowest goal return since the 2005-06 season when he found the back of the net on twelve occasions in 47-combined appearances, from the following 2006-07 season onward, Ronaldo has regularly been one of the hot-shot goalscorers in Europe while eclipsing the 40-goal mark a remarkable nine times along the way.
And with rumors beginning to circulate that Erik ten Hag - widely tipped to be the man to take over on the Old Trafford touchline from Ralf Rangnick in the summer - has given the green light for Ronaldo to depart the club in the summer, Manchester United fans may well have only a short time left to savor the exploits of the Portuguese icon.
