Cristiano Ronaldo sets milestone with first-half brace against Norwich

Manchester United take a 2-1 lead into the changing rooms at half-time against Norwich City at Old Trafford as the Red Devils look to push for the final Champions League place still up for grabs, and star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the focal point for Ralf Rangnick's men.

The Portuguese great bagged a brace for United when he struck inside 8-minutes before adding his second in the 32nd-minute, gifting the home side a comfortable and deserved 2-0 lead before Norwich pulled one back in stoppage-time through Kieran Dowell.

But it was not just a normal two-goal haul for Ronaldo this afternoon, rather, it marked another milestone moment for a man and a career that will go down in history as one of the greatest the game has ever seen.

Upon securing his second goal of the afternoon, it marked the 16th consecutive season in which Ronaldo scored 20+ club goals.

Despite turning 37-years-old a little over two months ago, the Manchester United star continues a goalscoring legacy that perhaps some would not have expected to witness despite the way he captivated Sir Alex Ferguson while still at Sporting CP as a young 18-year-old.

Though this is his lowest goal return since the 2005-06 season when he found the back of the net on twelve occasions in 47-combined appearances, from the following 2006-07 season onward, Ronaldo has regularly been one of the hot-shot goalscorers in Europe while eclipsing the 40-goal mark a remarkable nine times along the way.

And with rumors beginning to circulate that Erik ten Hag - widely tipped to be the man to take over on the Old Trafford touchline from Ralf Rangnick in the summer - has given the green light for Ronaldo to depart the club in the summer, Manchester United fans may well have only a short time left to savor the exploits of the Portuguese icon. But savor they will.
