Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel hits back at exit rumours as takeover talks ramp up

Thomas Tuchel has hit back at suggestions that he may leave Chelsea this summer after speculation linked him with a potential move to Manchester United.

Tuchel has spent 18 months at Chelsea, in which time he has won three trophies and reached the final in two further competitions, but the turmoil that currently surrounds the London club has led to suggestions that his future may lie away from Stamford Bridge.

However, speaking ahead of his side's clash with Newcastle at Stamford Bridge, Tuchel was quick to re-iterate his happiness with the blues, telling the gathered media that he doesn't expect to be able to always spend money or demand players.

'I never had in any contract that I can spend this amount of money, or that amount of money, that I need this player. “I never did this in any club. I trust myself also to adapt to a lot of situations.'

'I trust my ability to influence teams. I’m happy to be part of that big team at Cobham and at Chelsea. “I’m still very, very happy, and I hope it will not change.'

Takeover bid imminent?

Fortunately for Chelsea, it seems as though they may be handed a way out of the Roman Abramovich-led mess in which they find themselves, as a Saudi media consortium has ramped up its takeover bid for the club.

It is unclear just how far through said negotiations are, but they plan to revamp Stamford Bridge and invest heavily in the youth and women's facilities should they take over.

Should it go through, it would remove the sanctions that the club finds itself under at present.
