NFL: Five Things To Watch For During Week Six Of The 2025-26 Season

A rematch from last season, two potential Super Bowl matchups, and more!

NFL: Five Things To Watch For During Week Six Of The 2025-26 Season

NFL action picks up again this Thursday with an NFC East showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. We have 15 games scheduled to be played from Thursday evening to Monday night, so let’s identify the five most fascinating things to look out for in Week Six.

5. Jayden vs. Caleb, part two.

Whenever the top two picks from the same draft class get together, it’s usually must-see TV. That was the case last season, when Jayden Daniels threw that insane Hail Mary pass that was tipped before falling right into the hands of former Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown for a walk-off win. Last time we saw the Bears play, they blocked a game-winning field goal attempt. Meanwhile, the Commanders just put up 27 unanswered points on the Los Angeles Chargers after going down 10-0. With this game set to be played on Monday Night Football, it’ll be one worth watching.

4. How does Seattle respond this weekend with a game against Jacksonville?

That was a bitterly disappointing home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the NFL is a week-to-week league. With Week Six starting tomorrow, the time to dwell on the past is over. Now, the Seahawks must bounce back, but they’ll have a tough test going on the road to a red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars squad. Both QBs are playing well, but this game has the makings of a defensive masterclass. The Jags and Seahawks are only allowing opponents to score 20 and 21 points per game, respectively. While the Jags lead the league in turnovers, the Seahawks are also pretty good at recording takeaways (tied for eighth). Who knows, this could even end up being the matchup in Super Bowl LX!

3. Can the Ravens get out of this tailspin?

Viewership of this game will depend a lot on Lamar Jackson. If he plays, then this will be a game worth watching that features explosive offenses on both sides. If we get Cooper Rush again, then this will be a blowout. But here at 101 Great Goals, we are optimists, so we’ll just assume Lamar plays this weekend. He probably should if the Ravens want to avoid falling to 1-5. Regardless of who is starting for Baltimore, the Rams will put up plenty of yards and points. Matthew Stafford leads the league in passing, and the Ravens have the second-worst pass defense in the NFL. At the very least, there will be offensive fireworks for one squad.

2. A battle between 4-1 teams in Tampa.

Is there anything better than two division leaders going head-to-head in a late-afternoon TV slot? The only games on at the same time as this one are Bengals-Packers and Titans-Raiders, so all eyes will be on Tampa, Florida. Baker Mayfield is playing like an MVP, but he will have the incredibly difficult task of taking on the San Francisco 49ers, who are coming off their most impressive win of the season. Will Robert Saleh have an answer for NFL Rookie of the Year favorite Emeka Egbuka? Will Mac Jones continue to build on his impressive season, or will Brock Purdy resume his job as the starter? We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more on Sunday afternoon.

1. Chiefs vs. Lions on Sunday Night Football.

In a standalone game, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will play host to the NFL’s best offense. Anybody who’s anybody will be tuning in to watch this one. The Chiefs might be 2-3, but they’re always a threat to make the playoffs and play in a close game. They’ll be desperate to win after falling short against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. On the other side, the Lions look like the best team in the league. They are elite at running and throwing the football, while being tied for third in takeaways on defense. Dan Campbell is going to have his guys ready to go to war against Andy Reid’s Chiefs.
