Barcelona faced off with Sevilla in a La Liga clash on Saturday evening.
La Blaugrana headed into the game having enjoyed a solid opening to the campaign that had saw them score eight and concede one in their opening three games.
And whilst Sevilla are a top side, Barcelona were able to continue their fine start to the season on Saturday.
Raphinha opened the scoring after 21 minutes, with Robert Lewandowski making it 2-0 15 minutes later.
Eric Garcia then grabbed a third five minutes into the second half, earning Barca a comfortable win.
Following the game, Gavi, who started on the right of a three-man midfield, was named Man of the Match and also earned high praise from his manager:
Xavi looks towards Champions League
After beating Sevilla, Xavi was also keen to look ahead to the 2022/23 Champions League.
Xavi said: “The victory gives you confidence, but we have to continue. The Champions League begins on Wednesday, that doesn’t stop and it’s important to have the whole team connected.”
Barcelona kick off their Champions League group on Wednesday the 7th of September vs Viktoria Plzen.
Given that Barcelona are also in a group with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, it is imperative that Barcelona earn a comfortable win vs the Czech outfit.
