Wayne Rooney sends message to Harry Kane after record-breaking England goal

England and Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney has, late on Thursday, sent a message of congratulations to Harry Kane.

This, of course, comes after hitman Kane etched his name indellibly into the history books of English football a short time ago.

Gareth Southgate’s troops are currently locked in action, in a crunch European Championship qualifying showdown with Italy.

As things stand late in the action in Naples, the Three Lions boast the advantage, too, albeit whilst on the back foot owing to the dismissal of Luke Shaw.

After the superb Declan Rice opened the scoring on Thursday, the aforementioned Kane put England two to the good late in the first-half, courtesy of a trademark spot-kick.

And, in the process, the Tottenham Hotspur standout made history, in overtaking the aforementioned Wayne Rooney to take sole ownership of the title of the all-time top goalscorer for the England national team.
