Watford vs West Ham 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Watford 1-2 West Ham

Following back-to-back defeats to start the new Premier League campaign, Watford head into Saturday’s clash hoping for much better.

The Hornets have yet to find the back of the net in defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Everton.

West Ham United have also had a tough start to the new season picking up just one point from their first two games.

A heavy opening day defeat to Manchester City was followed up with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Premier League preview: Watford vs West Ham

Following their run to the FA Cup final and strong Premier League campaign, Watford had high hopes for the season.

However, Javi Gracia’s side have made a woeful start to the new campaign as they sit rock bottom.

Along with Crystal Palace, the Hornets are yet to register a goal this term, despite having the likes of Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu.

Gracia will hope new additions Danny Welbeck and Ismaila Sarr will add some much needed firepower over the coming weeks.

Sarr is unlikely to feature on Saturday due to fitness issues, but Welbeck should likely make an appearance at Vicarage Road.

The 28-year-old made a first competitive appearance since November last year after overcoming an ankle injury.

West Ham’s underwhelming start

West Ham have also started the season in underwhelming fashion.

After suffering an emphatic 5-0 defeat on the opening day of the season to Manchester City, they were held to a 1-1 draw with Brighton.

However, on Saturday, Manuel Pellegrini will hope to receive a boost with the return of club-record signing Sebastian Haller.

The Frenchman missed the Hammers’ draw on the south coast due to a knock but is likely to return on the weekend.

Felipe Anderson is another key forward expected to return against Watford.

He could take the place of new signing Pablo Fornals who has so far found life in the Premier League tough.

The 23-year-old has been hauled off in both of the club’s opening fixtures and he will be hoping for a quick turnaround in fortunes.
