A wonderful video, showcasing Lionel Messi’s joyous reaction to Argentina’s World Cup triumph, has come to the fore on Sunday night.
The name of iconic attacker Messi, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines late this evening.
This comes after the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner guided Argentina to a historic World Cup title, the country’s first for almost 40 years.
After a 120-minute affair which can accurately be described as nothing short of astonishing, featuring a Lionel Messi brace, and Kylian Mbappe hat-trick, proceedings at the Lusail Stadium were sent to a penalty shootout.
And, from here, it was the Argentinians who held their nerve, converting all four of their spot-kicks, to France’s two.
The aforementioned Messi, for his part, was one of those to slot home from 12 yards, kicking the South American champions’ triumph into gear courtesy of a coolly-taken finish beyond Hugo Lloris.
Upon Gonzalo Montiel stepping up to the ball for the deciding 4th Albiceleste penalty, though, the nation’s captain and talisman could do little more than watch on, and wait.
And now, as alluded to above, footage of the exact moment in which Messi’s lifelong dream was finally realised has come to the fore.
