Watch: Chelsea star leaves London Stadium on crutches

A key member of the midfield ranks at Premier League giants Chelsea has set alarm bells ringing across the club’s fanbase on Sunday evening.

This comes after he was spotted on crutches on the back of the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Carney Chukwuemeka.

For those who may have missed it, youngster Chukwuemeka was afforded a start earlier today, as Chelsea returned to action in a Premier league meeting with West Ham United.

The Blues, in the end, were put to the sword by three goals to one, making it just one point from an available six to start the new season.

And the aforementioned Chukwuemeka, on his 2nd successive start, added to an altogether miserable day for Pochettino and co, in limping out of proceedings shortly after finding the net in superb fashion.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the London Stadium, Chelsea’s boss, in turn, was drawn on the latest on the wellbeing of his midfield starlet.

Pochettino, for his part, remained largely tight-lipped, in simply confirming that Chukwuemeka will undergo a round of medical tests on Monday:

But an ensuing video of the former Aston Villa talent to have since come to the fore online will certainly not inspire confidence amongst the Chelsea faithful.

This comes with Chukwuemeka having been spotted looking in serious discomfort, making use of a pair of crutches:
