Watch: Argentina players take to dressing room to celebrate victory over Mexico

Footage of the post-match scenes in the Argentine national team dressing room have come to the fore on social media late on Saturday evening.

The Albiceleste of course marked their return to action a short time ago.

In the knowledge that a return to form was an absolute must on the back of a shock World Cup opening day defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia, Lionel Scaloni’s troops pitted their talents against Mexico at the Lusail Stadium.

And, when all was said and done, clinch a swift return to winning ways is precisely what Argentina went on to do.

A tense 90 minutes was ultimately decided inside the closing half hour, as a typically brilliant opener on the part of Lionel Messi was added to by a further moment of magic on the part of Enzo Fernandez, en route to a 2-0 Albiceleste triumph.

After staving off what would have proven nothing short of a humiliating group stage exit from the World Cup (for the time being at least), it should come as little surprise to hear of Lionel Scaloni’s squad making use of the opportunity to blow off some steam post-match.

As showcased in the footage below, the Copa America holders were in jubilant mood upon their return to the Lusail Stadium dressing rooms.

The likes of talisman Messi, shot-stopper Emi Martinez and midfield enforcer Rodrigo De Paul can all be seen in the thick of things, as Argentina set their sights firmly back on a deep tournament run in Qatar over the weeks to come.
