An insight into the terms of the new contract signed by Arsenal defender William Saliba has been provided late on Thursday evening.
The subject of youngster Saliba’s future has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines on the red half of north London across the day to date.
This comes after any remaining sliver of doubt surrounding the Frenchman’s commitment to the Arsenal cause was put to bed.
As confirmed by a number of reliable sources, Saliba has put pen to paper on a new contract with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Prior to contrary reports, however, it is understood that, in fact, Saliba’s fresh Emirates terms do not include an option for the Gunners to extend for a further year.
This comes as Arsenal insider David Ornstein provides a fresh insight into the agreement in question.
However, ‘the terms do not include an option to extend’.
Furthermore, it is revealed that the 22-year-old will earn a sum in the region of £10 million-per-year over the duration of his contract.
Significantly from an Arsenal perspective, the deal does not feature a release clause.
