An insight into the status of Arsenal's pursuit of Leicester City star Youri Tielemans has been provided, on the back of the club closing a deal for Fabio Vieira.

Mikel Arteta's Gunners have of course taken their place centre stage in the headlines across the European football media over the course of the day to date.

This comes with the transfer team at the Emirates having sealed an agreement for the club's 2nd signing of the summer.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, Porto talent Fabio Vieira is primed to take his talents to the red half of north London ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

This comes after Arsenal agreed to fork out a considerable €35 million, plus a further €5 million in bonuses, on the 22-year-old.

What, though, does Vieira's imminent arrival mean for Arsenal's midfield plans?

The Gunners have long been on the hunt for reinforcements in the middle of the park, with sections of the club's fanbase having expressed concern that the arrival of attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira could have a knock-on effect on the efforts of Arteta and co. to land no.1 target Youri Tielemans.

Such fears, though, have this evening been put to bed.

This comes owing to a fresh update on the part of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

In a post on his Youtube channel a short time ago, Romano confirmed that, despite their Vieira capture, Arsenal 'are still working on Youri Tielemans as the top priority for the midfield'.

The capital outfit's pursuit of Manchester City hitman Gabriel Jesus too remains ongoing.
