Fresh updates concerning two of Chelsea's transfer targets this summer have emerged this weekend.

With the 2022 summer transfer window set to open in less than a week, Chelsea fans will be glad that the takeover of their club is finally complete, meaning the Blues can now focus on improving their squad for the 2022/23 campaign.

The west Londoners have been in the news a fair bit over the last week or so due to Romelu Lukaku’s desire to leave the club and return to Inter Milan.

However, Chelsea have also been linked with several players - namely FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, who is a free agent at the end of June, and Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, whom the Pensioners tried to sign last summer before pulling the plug due to Sevilla's hefty transfer demands.

And now, as mentioned above, fresh updates on the futures of the pair have emerged online.

On the Kounde front, Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona are interested in the Frenchman, but there are no talks ongoing with Sevilla, who want €55-65m for the stopper. It is added that Chelsea are leading the race for his signature:

As for Dembele, football.london’s Adam Newson reports that Chelsea held talks with Barcelona's contract rebel winger over a free transfer, but no contract has been agreed:
