An update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has emerged on Friday.

Osimhen is currently plying his trade in Serie A with Napoli, where he has scored 28 and assisted nine in 62 outings to date.

18 of those goals came in 32 outings across all competitions this past term – a solid record and one much better than any of Arsenal’s current striker options.

As a result, it was not too surprising to see the Nigerian linked with the Gunners over the last few weeks.

However, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has provided an update on the situation on Friday, and there does not appear to be much movement on the Osimhen to the Emirates front: ''Any offer for Osimhen must be exceptional, around €100M.

“And so far Arsenal and Bayern haven't reached €85/90, it will be necessary to see if an offer will come from these clubs that will make Napoli stagger. Broja is a potential replacement"

Such a steep asking price may well put Arsenal off, especially as there appears to be several more strikers also of interest to the capital club.

The main one linked has been Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City. However, a number of other Serie A forwards have also been tipped to take their talents to north London this summer.

Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone, Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid (on loan at Juventus) and Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo are just some of the names believed to have caught the eye of Arsenal this past season.
