Roma name their price for Liverpool goalkeeper target Alisson

Liverpool fans desperate for a new goalkeeper

After Loris Karius’ horrendous Champions League final performance, we suspect Liverpool fans will not care how much their club has to pay for a new goalkeeper.

Karius made two of the worst mistakes possible as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in the Kiev final.

There are now question marks over whether Karius will ever play for Liverpool again. Whilst back-up Simon Mignolet is untrusted by Jurgen Klopp and the club’s fans.

Attention has now turned to two world class goalkeepers: Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Roma’s Alisson.

Roma want £79m for Alisson

On Wednesday, The Guardian have a report on how much Liverpool have to pay for Roma’s Alisson.

Fabrizio Romano and Sachin Nakrani believe it will cost Liverpool 79 million pounds to sign the Brazil number one.

This transfer news does come with some caveats, including the fact that Liverpool will have to wait until after the World Cup with Alisson a key player for Brazil.

No Liverpool approach for Alisson yet

Alisson is contracted to Roma until the end of the 2020/2021 season and could yet remain at Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final opponents.

Liverpool have not made an official approach for Alisson but they have been in contact with Roma.

Were they to meet Roma’s asking price, it would be a world record for a goalkeeper.

Real Madrid have also been heavily linked with Alisson, who is undoubtedly a step up from the goalkeepers at Anfield right now.

The good news for Liverpool is that a deal does some possible with Roma, despite their anger at losing Mo Salah for such a low price last summer.
