A fresh insight into the ongoing efforts of Spanish giants Barcelona to lure Robert Lewandowski to the club ahead of next season has been provided on Friday.

Links between Polish international Lewandowski and Barca have of course been rampant for several weeks now.

This comes with the 33-year-old having made public his desire to seek pastures new this summer, on the back of a prolific stint in Germany with Bayern Munich.

The Camp Nou, in turn, has long been tipped as Lewandowski’s landing spot of choice, with Barca’s mutual interest in securing a deal meaning a transfer is viewed as altogether likely to come to fruition.

And yet, as the weeks continue to pass, little word has been forthcoming when it comes to positive steps forward in the Blaugrana's pursuit.

It therefore came as little surprise when a number of rival European giants - namely Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain - were too credited with an interest in the Bayern icon's signature.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, though, then those of a Barcelona persuasion hopeful of Lewandowski's arrival being finalised need not fret.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, fresh off a 600 million euro financial boost being confirmed 24 hours ago, Barca are 'preparing a new official bid' for 'Lewa'.

This comes with the striker himself having remained patient, owing to both his keenness to secure a move to Catalunya, and the excellent relationship between Pini Zahavi, Lewandowski's agent, and those in a position of power at the Camp Nou.
