The Gunners have moved for the Ukrainian after missing out on Lisandro Martínez, who is joining Manchester United.

Mikel Arteta's side are now due to work on personal terms with the player which could be a key step in the deal.

Arsenal and Manchester City reach agreement for Zinchenko

An agreement in principle of around £30 million has been found between the two clubs.

Zinchenko is now closing in on becoming the north London club's fourth summer signing.

He would represent better value than Martínez who is reportedly joining United for €55 million.

The 25-year-old can also fill both central midfield and left-back, two positions which Arsenal needed to strengthen.

In addition, he also arrives with Premier League experience, having made 76 league appearances for City.

Arsenal confident of agreeing personal terms

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue and could be agreed upon quickly, according to Ben Jacobs.

Zinchenko is excited to once again work with Arteta, who has promised him a more prominent role than at City.
