Leeds United have, on Wednesday, confirmed that they have an agreement in place with Spanish giants FC Barcelona for the transfer of Raphinha.

Raphinha has been one of Leeds’ most impressive players during their most recent stint in the Premier League.

And after the Whites only just avoided relegation last term, it was clear Raphinha was destined for greater things.

This saw a number of clubs show an interest in the wide-man this summer, two of which were Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal did seem to come close to agreeing a deal with the South American early in the window before Chelsea’s interest emerged.

However, both London outfits have now been beaten to Raphinha by Barcelona.

As per Leeds: “We can confirm that an agreement in principle has been reached with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Raphinha.

“The player will now undergo a medical in Spain.”

Elsewhere, it has been reported that Raphinha will sign a deal with the Spanish outfit until 2027.

As for a transfer fee, Barcelona will reportedly pay €58m as a guaranteed fee, with add-ons potentially taking that sum as high as €67m:
