Nottingham Forest are close to making their first signing as a Premier League club.

Steve Cooper's side have agreed a loan deal with Manchester United for Dean Henderson, according to The Athletic.

Forest are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after they failed to reach an agreement over a new contract with Brice Samba.

RC Lens are in talks with the newly promoted team over a fee for the Congolese shot-stopper.

In the meantime, they are closing in on a deal for Henderson, with the move now subject to a medical.

Forest have agreed to assume his full salary over the season-long loan move.

Henderson has made just 13 Premier League appearances for United over the last two seasons.

However, he did make a strong impression whilst on loan at Sheffield United and he will be hoping to produce a similar level of form.

Nottingham Forest target Joe Rodon

The Daily Mail report that Cooper has also made Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon one of his top summer targets.

The Forest boss has previously worked with the 24-year-old whilst in charge of Swansea City.

Rodon has only made 22 Premier League appearances for Spurs and will likely be looking for more regular game time elsewhere.
