Premier League outfit Newcastle United have, on Thursday, been named as a shock contender for the signature of a headline member of the frontline at French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The player in question? Neymar.
For those not aware, the name of wide-man Neymar has taken its place front and centre in the media headlines in Paris over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes amid widespread claims that the Brazilian’s stint at the Parc des Princes is set to come to an imminent close.
Ahead of something of a new era in France’s capital, both Neymar and close friend Lionel Messi are understood to have been informed that their services will no longer be required.

Whilst Barcelona are viewed as widespread favourites to land Messi, though, it is currently unclear just where Neymar could end up.
As per a report from Graeme Bailey of 90min:
‘Newcastle’s majority shareholders PIF are interested in bringing Neymar to the Premier League.’
The Magpies, it is understood, are eyeing a ‘marquee’ addition to Eddie Howe’s squad ahead of next season, with their ongoing pursuit of reinforcements on the left flank meaning Neymar has now emerged as an outlandish potential target.

They want a marquee signing and he would be that.
He could fill a position they are actively looking at on the left.@90min_Footballhttps://t.co/c51XItT1P2
