The goalkeeper has arrived on Tyneside to undergo his medical ahead of a move.

The Magpies have agreed a £10 million fee with Burnley for the England international, as reported by Sky Sports.

Pope has proven himself to be one of the top English goalkeepers in the Premier League over the last several seasons.

His performances for the Clarets have seen him earn 8 caps for the national team.

He will now be competing with Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Mark Gillespie for a starting spot.

Newcastle pull out of Hugo Ekitike deal
