Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir’s Lyon to Liverpool move stalls

Will Nabil Fekir join Liverpool?

Another day, another fresh Nabil Fekir update.

Bilel Ghazi, who works for L’Equipe in France, has told Liverpool fans not to expect any deal for Fekir anytime soon.

According to the latest report, Fekir will return to Clairefontaine today without having completed any move from Lyon.

Perhaps the key update is that the negotiations between Lyon and Liverpool have not progressed since the beginning of last week.

Bilel Ghazi’s final update is that Bayern Munich are still in the mix to challenge Liverpool for Fekir.

Fekir’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes talks

Over the weekend Fekir’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes has also spoken about his client’s next move.

Bernes has updated the press:

I have not moved from Marseille, I’m with my family, but I’ll be clear, we’ll go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere, only when there is an agreement with OL and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives me the green light.

Liverpool’s interest exists, but for the moment there is nothing done and other clubs can also come in. This transfer window can be long.

Fekir, a versatile 24-year-old forward/winger who can play anywhere across the frontline or in an attacking midfield role, has been on the books of Lyon since joining the club from Saint-Priest in 2011.

Last season the Lyon player netted 23 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions earning himself a place in Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad this summer.
