Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira outlines future stance ahead of summer window

Andreas Pereira

Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira has recently been discussing his hopes for the future following a loan in the Serie A with Lazio.

Pereira & Man United

Pereira would join Man United back in 2012, leaving PSV’s youth system for Man United’s under-18s.

After spending time with the under-18s and under-23s, Pereira was eventually handed his senior United debut in 2015.

All told, the Brazilian has featured 75 times across all competitions for United, scoring four goals and assisting five.

However, the now 25-year-old has never really been able to hold down a regular starting spot for the Red Devils.

This led to Pereira being shipped out on various loans to sides such as Granada and Valencia.

Man United’s Pereira discusses future

Pereira’s last loan saw him spend the 2020/21 campaign in the Serie A with Lazio.

The South American would feature 33 times for the Biancocelesti, scoring one and assisting four.

Now, following his loan stint, Pereira has been drawn on his plans for the future.

And, though he mentioned his admiration for England and Spain, Pereira would state that he would like to stay and play for Lazio again:

“Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga? They are super leagues.

“The English one is very physical, and as you can see, I don’t have the ideal physique! Joking aside, I loved playing in England; Spanish football is more my style of play.

“Future? I would like to stay and play for Lazio again, but this depends on the discussion with United and what they will want to do with me.

“I have a contract with the club; it’s like a second home for me. I have been there since I was 16; I always talk to the people who work for the club.”
