Manchester United are interested in the services of Juventus and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.

Rabiot is currently plying his trade for Serie A powerhouse Juventus, whom he joined on a free transfer from PSG in 2019.

And the central midfielder has since endured a mixed stint at the Allianz Stadium. He has featured 129 times for the Turin-based outfit, but his form has been inconsistent, something that was not helped by his deployment out of position on the left-hand-side of midfield a fair bit this past season.

Now, with the summer window upon us, it appears as though Juventus are trying to get rid of Rabiot, who has just one year left on his current contract.

As per the Manchester Evening News, Calciomercato suggest that Manchester United are ‘intensifying dialogue’ to sign Rabiot in the upcoming transfer window. It is suggested that Juve would accept just €15m for the 27-year-old:

Given the fact that Manchester United need some fresh legs in midfield following the departures of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, targeting Rabiot does make some sense.

However, the Red Devils should be wary of Rabiot’s agent, who is also his mother, Veronique.

Veronique Rabiot is a very vocal character who is not afraid to express her thoughts. One of her more public spats in recent times came with Kylian Mbappe’s family during Euro 2020.

As Man United are, or should be, trying to rebuild a more harmonious squad without negative influences, it may therefore be in the best interests of the Manchester powerhouse to avoid trying to sign Rabiot.
