Manchester United eye January move for £40m-rated World cup star

Erik ten Hag is looking to add a World Cup standout to his squad this winter.

The player in question is Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who is having an excellent 2022/23 for club and country.

He has scored 10 and assisted two in 21 outings for Ajax in all competitions.

Then, in Qatar, Kudus netted twice during Ghana’s brief stint in the tournament.

Following his impressive displays this winter, Kudus has attracted the attention of several top clubs.

One of these has been Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

According to a report from Daily Star, Ten Hag wants to raid his former club Ajax for the 22-year-old Ghana international but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can pull off the move before the January window closes.

Kudus can operate in wide areas as well as a centre forward. Furthermore, he can drop down and operate as the number ten as well.

This would allow him to provide cover for all of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes should Manchester United indeed get the deal over the line.

However, Chelsea were also linked with the African standout recently and now Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic have suffered injuries this week, perhaps the Blues will pay more attention to Kudus.
