Man United & Tottenham-linked Milan Skriniar speaks out on transfer rumours

Man United & Tottenham-linked Milan Skriniar speaks out on transfer rumours

Man United & Tottenham need centre-backs

Manchester United and Tottenham have, for some time, required reinforcements at centre-back.

Spurs’ previously dominant pairing of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld has now broken up, whilst both Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez can be quite error-prone.

This just leaves Joe Rodon, whose lack of top-flight experience has been laid bare on a number of occasions this term.

As for Manchester United, it is apparent to most that Victor Lindelof is not good enough to be a regular starter for a club that should be competing for the Premier League title.

Outside of the Swede, the Red Devils only really have Eric Bailly as a potential partner for Harry Maguire. And whilst solid on his day, the Ivorian has been quite injury-prone for several years now.

Milan Skriniar speaks out over transfer rumours

So, a move for a centre-back would likely prove a wise decision for either Tottenham or United this summer.

One defender whom both sides have been credited with an interest in for some time now, meanwhile, is Milan Skriniar.

Skriniar joined Serie A champions Inter Milan back in 2017, and has since gone on to become a key cog in their backline, notching 165 appearances across all competitions – including 30 in the league this season as the Nerazzurri finally put an end to Juventus’ domestic dominance.

However, whilst Skriniar would likely improve both Spurs and United’s backlines a great deal, the Slovakian doesn’t seem overly keen on a move.

When drawn on the transfer rumours surrounding his name recently, the 26-year-old stated:

“There have been rumours, there are and there will be.

“However, I have never listened to or commented them.

“Of course, it will be no different after this season.”
