Not one, but two updates on the future of West Ham United star Declan Rice have come to the fore on Friday evening.
First comes an insight into the ongoing battle for Rice’s services.
It has of course long been common knowledge that a number of English football’s biggest clubs are keen on the all-action midfielder’s signature.
To this point, London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea have been most routinely tipped as potential landing spots, with the former understood to be particularly keen.
As per Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian, though, another of the Premier League’s heavyweights now appear ready to step up their pursuit.
The outfit in question? Manchester United.

Such hopes on the part of not only Man United, but all of Rice’s suitors, meanwhile, were also afforded something of a boost on Saturday, by way of comments on the part of West Ham boss David Moyes.
Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s weekend showdown with Brentford, Moyes was drawn on the chances of his midfield talisman finally moving on in the summer.
And the English tactician was not shy in admitting that, though West Ham remain hopeful of keeping hold of Rice, ‘we’re fully aware there’s a good chance’ he will go on to seal a move elsewhere.
Moyes: “We’re fully aware there’s a good chance we don’t have Declan Rice here next season”. 🚨⚒️
“Our plans are to have Dec — we hope he stays, that’s biggest thing. We’d love him to be a West Ham player but we are aware that might not be the case. That is one scenario”. pic.twitter.com/ji4nwUAAAv
