Luis Suarez ‘focused’ on offer from Aston Villa’s Steven Gerrard

Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Aston Villa are interested in the services of Luis Suarez.
Suarez’s Atletico stint
Suarez, now 34, is still plying his trade on the books of Spanish outfit, Atletico Madrid.
Despite his age, Suarez has continued to impress and would score 21 and assist three in 32 La Liga ties last term en route to Atletico beating Barcelona and Real Madrid to the title.
Atletico’s form has since dipped this season, but Suarez has still been able to score seven and assist two in 19 league outings so far.
Suarez to Aston Villa?
Now, with Suarez out of contact in the summer, foreign clubs can, of course, attempt to sign him to a pre-contract agreement – meaning he will join them on a free at the end of this season.
A number of clubs appear to have made offers for the Uruguayan, with Gerard Romero claiming that the hitman has ruled out offers from Palmeiras, Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro -as well as one from Saudi Arabia.
Instead, Romero asserts that Suarez is focusing on an offer from Aston Villa, who his former Liverpool teammate, Steven Gerrard, is now in charge of:

Suarez’s last Liverpool season would, of course, be that 2013/14 campaign which saw the infamous Gerrard slip as the Reds ‘bottled’ the Premier league title in the dying weeks. Phillipe Coutinho, currently on loan at Villa, was also still at Liverpool then.
Is Gerrard looking to get the band back together? Will we see a move for Daniel Sturridge soon to reform that famous SAS connection? Unlikely, but a move for Suarez on a free could still be a decent one for Villa despite his age.
