Liverpool to cash in on Shaqiri?

Xherdan Shaqiri has been on Liverpool’s books since 2018.

However, the now 29-year-old has never really been able to hold down a regular starting spot for the Reds.

He featured just 14 times in the league in 2020/21, with most of those outings coming as a sub.

And now, it appears Liverpool are ready to cash in on the Swiss international this summer.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Shaqiri has permission to leave Liverpool, with a price-tag of below 10 million euros set:

Liverpool not in for Chiesa

After an impressive stint at Euro 2020, Federico Chiesa has found himself linked with Premier League powerhouse, Liverpool.

Reports from Italy even went as far as to claim that Juventus had rejected a bid from the Reds.

However, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has since dismissed such claims, stating that Liverpool have not made an official bid for the winger.

In a further blow to Liverpool, Romano reports that there is nothing going on and that Liverpool have no chance to sign Chiesa this summer:

Baumgartner speaks out

Elsewhere, Christoph Baumgartner has been speaking out about transfer rumours surrounding him.

On the back of his fine Euro 2020 for Austria, both Manchester United and Liverpool were said to be showing an interest in the midfielder.

However, when recently asked about interest from said sides, Baumgartner stated:

‘It is of course better if there are positive rumours instead of negative ones. But I feel very comfortable here and can develop well here.

‘In football, you can never say 1000 per cent what will happens within a few months. But I am very happy here and see a great opportunity here to develop myself and the team.’
