As 101 covered earlier this week, Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a sensational move for world-class attacker Kylian Mbappe when he becomes a free agent next summer following the expiration of his PSG deal.
FootballTransfers claimed Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘considering whether or not to send a package to the Frenchman’s representatives’, though they add that ‘know that they would be second-choice to Real Madrid and would have to hope that the LaLiga outfit somehow fail in their pursuit of the 24-year-old’.
Signing Kylian Mbappe would be an absolutely mega bit of business from the Gunners, but journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on those links on Sunday and dealt the north Londoners a big blow:
“Despite some big headlines, I honestly have absolutely no news on any English clubs being in talks to sign Mbappe,” Romano said.
“If something will happen in the next months we will say that, but at this point I’ve absolutely zero information on this one.
“Real Madrid are always very well informed on Mbappe; I’m not aware of anything else at this point.”
