Anyone who saw Crystal Palace‘s defending at Arsenal on Saturday will know that Roy Hodgson needs reinforcements in his backline.
Palace were torn apart by Arsenal in the opening 22 minutes at The Emirates and were well out of sight by half-time.
Roy Hodgson has performed miracles at Crystal Palace since arriving when they had no points from their opening seven Premier League games.
Yet, in recent weeks, Crystal Palace have suffered some severe injury problems.
Crystal Palace sign a central defender!
Scott Dann is out for the season. Mamadou Sakho is likely to be out until February with a calf injury. And, Joel Ward is another defender on the injured list.
Palace have played James Tomkins and Martin Kelly at centre back in recent games, but Roy Hodgson has confirmed this is not ideal.
On Saturday, the Polish and French media have confirmed that Crystal Palace are closing in on Polish central defender Jaroslaw Jach.
Jaroslaw Jach: A Polish international
The 23-year-old has two caps for Poland and will cost Crystal Palace 3 million euros.
Jach will sign a three-and-a-half year contract at Crystal Palace once his medical is complete today.
Palace have been in negotiations with Zaglebie Lubin for a few days now, it is understood that their initial offer was worth two million euros.
Jaroslaw Jach: A Manchester United fan
Jach was captain at Lechia Dzierżoniów before moving to Zagłebie Lubin. According to Wikipedia Jach is a Manchester United fan and can also take free-kicks.
The Polish defender has also represented the Under-21 side 14 times as well. Having played for Poland this season, Jach is expected to go to the World Cup with his country.
As a result, this transfer by Crystal Palace could be seen as more than reasonable if all goes well for Jach in England.
Ingolstadt were also in the mix for Jach, before he agreed terms with Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace are also in the mix for Erdal Rakip, a defensive midfielder, on loan from Benfica.
