Chelsea signed Wesley Fofana Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina, Denis Zakaria and Cesare Casadei this past summer.
All of those signings meant that Chelsea spent the most money of any club in Premier League history during the 2022 summer transfer window, with a total spend of £278.4m.
Both Casadei and Chukwuemeka are young players and ones expected to have a big role for the club in the future.
And now, the Evening Standard have provided an insight into future plans Chelsea have to strengthen from a youth level.
They report that Chelsea are tracking 16-year-old full back Triston Rowe, who is playing five years above his age group at Aston Villa.
The teenage right-back move from West Brom to Villa just 18 months ago and Chelsea have now identified him as an option to strengthen.
Rowe has also made a further four appearances playing for Villa’s Under-18s group.
The west Londoners spent well over £30m signing teenage stars through their academy budget like Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Omari Hutchinson last summer and they want to continue that trend into the upcoming January transfer window.
