Chelsea are looking to close in on a move for Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly, it has been reported.

The Blues are in desperate need of some fresh legs at centre-back, now that Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have departed for Spain.

And a whole host of names have, in turn, been tipped for a Stamford Bridge switch, including Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus and former Chelsea star, Nathan Ake.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano reported at the end of June that Napoli stopper Kalidou Koulibaly is also on the list of Pensioners targets, with it added that there have already been conversations regarding the Senegalese star.

Now, it appears a deal for Koulibaly is close to being completed as the Telegraph report that the Blues have agreed personal terms with the defender and have contacted Napoli. There is a belief on all sides that a fee of around £34m can be agreed for the Senegalese stopper.

Koulibaly is not the only centre-back expected to join the west Londoners this summer, though.

The Telegraph add that Tuchel wants three centre-backs this window, with personal terms agreed with Nathan Ake. Chelsea also remain interested in PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe:

One defender Chelsea are seemingly not signing this summer, however, is Matthijs de Ligt, with Bayern Munich now favourites to land the Dutchman.
