Arsenal looking to sign players in at least five positions this summer

An insight into the summer transfer plans of Arsenal has been forthcoming this week.

Arsenal need a rebuild

Despite an FA Cup and Community Shield win during his first season at the club, Arsenal’s decline has continued under Mikel Arteta’s management.

The Gunners are languishing in midtable in the Premier League, and look set to miss out on European football for the first time since before Arsene Wenger’s tenure.

Arsenal, in a bid to halt their ongoing decline, have undergone something of a rebuild over the last year or so, as they attempt to fix years and years of poor decisions on the transfer front.

Players such as Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis have already been shipped out in an attempt to remove deadwood from the club’s squad, whilst there have been some promising performers brought in, including Gabriel and Thomas Partey.

The rebuild, though, looks far from over.
