Rabiot has been linked with Manchester United for several weeks and is even believed to have spoken to Erik ten Hag over a move.
Now, however, Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that negotiations between Rabiot and United have slowed down, in part because the player is unconvinced about joining United due to their lack of Champions League football.
Di Marzio wrote: “Adrien Rabiot-Manchester United negotiation has slowed down: very high requests from the player who however remains unconvinced of the destination given that the Red Devils will not play the Champions League this season.”
Elsewhere on the Manchester United front, James Robson has reported on Tuesday evening that Manchester United want to know how much they will end up spending on a holding midfielder in relation to what they do further forward.
Hakim Ziyech and Antony are of interest to Ten Hag, but a no.6 is the absolute priority:
On the holding midfielder front, United have also been linked with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
United were interested in the midfielder last summer before he eventually joined Brighton and are now seemingly back in for him. But they will have to pay a much higher fee than the £4.5m fee Brighton snapped him up for in 2021.
