Tottenham target Pedro Porro speaks out over Sporting future

Sporting CP star and known Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Pedro Porro has, late on Friday, provided an insight into his future.

Recent weeks have of course seen it widely speculated that Porro, formerly of Manchester City, has piqued the attentions of the powers that be at Spurs, owing to his starring displays in Portugal with Sporting.

This comes as Antonio Conte and co. continue to seek out reinforcements at right-wing back, amid the struggles of Emerson Royal and the forgotten Djed Spence.

Reports have largely varied when it comes to the actual chances of the transfer team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium striking a deal for Porro this month, as Sporting continue to demand that their star defender’s €45 million release clause be paid in full.

Many of a Lilywhites persuasion, though, have nevertheless continued to express their ongoing hope that an agreement will ultimately be found.

Speaking to the media late on Friday night, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future was put to Porro himself.

This comes with Porro, fresh off a result-clinching strike against Vizela, having assured that:

“I’m not talking about the market. Neither about staying nor about leaving. I wanted to join Sporting and I’m happy here.”
