Tottenham star spotted on crutches after Man United clash

A key member of the midfield setup at Tottenham Hotspur was spotted on crutches in the aftermath of the club’s victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

The player in question? James Maddison.

England international Maddison, a summer arrival in north London, was afforded his 2nd successive start against United, taking his place as the spearhead of Spurs’ midfield.

And the former Leicester City man went on to enjoy another fine outing, en route to a 2-0 Lilywhites triumph.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a source of concern for all associated with Tottenham to hear of Maddison, post-match, looking some way off full fitness.

As revealed by Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold, the 26-year-old was ‘spotted by journalists in the mixed zone leaving the stadium on crutches’.

Maddison, as a result, was drawn on his wellbeing by the awaiting media, having seen out the full 90 minutes against United without looking in any major discomfort.

And the midfielder went on to assure that his use of crutches was simply a precaution, albeit with it yet to be seen if this in fact proves to be the case.
