Tottenham Hotspur’s Juan Foyth lauded following Argentina 2-0 Mexico

Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth was named Best Player of the Match for his performances during Argentina’s 2-0 win over Mexico.

The 20-year-old is having a month to remember by making his Premier League and international debut and scoring his first senior goal.

Foyth completed 90 minutes on his first appearance for La Albiceleste and helped his side to keep a clean sheet.

Argentina fielded a heavily rotated line-up for their friendly against Mexico on Friday evening.

Foyth helped made up a back-three also consisting of Villareal’s Funes Mori and Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico.

The young Spurs players profile continues to build as he produced another excellent perfomance.

Argentina national team caretaker manager Lionel Scaloni heaped praise on the youngster following his debut.

Scaloni said:

“We are very happy with Foyth, we are talking about a great centre-back, with a great future, it was a risk to start him play but he did it very well.”

Erik Lamela was an 89th-minute substitute whilst Paulo Gazzaniga remained an unused substitute.
