Tottenham boss Antonio Conte makes Harry Kane admission

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has made a Harry Kane admission ahead of the busy festive period of Premier League football.

Conte’s Harry Kane admission

Despite Antonio Conte’s arrival, Harry Kane has continued to struggle to score goals this term.

In the Premier League, Kane would take until matchweek eight of the season to finally find the net.

However, since that game, Kane has once again struggled for form, failing to score in the following five Premier League outings.

Despite this, Conte recently made a rather interesting claim, stating that, at present, Kane is basically undroppable as the side cannot manage without him.

Conte, though, also conceded that he hopes to improve the situation so Tottenham can try and still get three points without Kane:

“If I answer in an honest way, to start a game without Harry now is a bit difficult for me,” admitted Conte.

“It’s a bit difficult for me. Honesty we are talking about an important player for us, an important player for all. Yeah, in this moment I am answering in this way.

“I hope to improve the situation, to improve the confidence of all players and to see that maybe without Harry we can cover the situation. Not in the same way, but in a way that can be good to get three points.

“Now in this moment, honestly, I don’t see this team starting without Harry.”

Is Kane undroppable?

In previous campaigns, the notion that Kane was undroppable for Spurs seemed very, very true – especially as the Lilywhites had no viable back-up centre-forward option.

But given how awful Kane has been in front of goal in the league this term, could Conte not opt to bench Kane for one game and hand someone else a chance?

Moving Heung-min Son up top and then playing Steven Bergwijn out wide may not be the worst idea in the world. The Dutchman has not been in great form for Tottenham of late. But then again, neither has Kane.
