Brighton 1 – Tottenham 1
Should Tottenham have picked up all three points at Brighton on Tuesday night in the Premier League?
Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw as Chris Hughton’s side picked up a valuable point.
Tottenham took the lead through Harry Kane immediately after the restart. Kane is now up to 26 Premier League goals, four behind Mo Salah.
But Spurs failed to hold their lead for long, as Brighton won a penalty which Pascal Gross dispatched.
Toby Alderweireld after Brighton
One of the big talking points for Tottenham on Tuesday was the return of Toby Alderweireld to the starting XI.
The Belgian was making his first Premier League start for Spurs since October.
Alderweireld missed a large portion of the season with injury, but he’s also been available for the past few weeks.
Many fans believe Alderweireld has been frozen out at Tottenham as he’s in a contract stand-off with the club. It’s highly likely that Spurs sell Alderweireld this summer.
After the Brighton game, Alderweireld discussed being back in the team. The defender was relieved his return went well:
I am happy that I could help the team. I did my best.
I was happy that my body did what I wanted to do so I’m very happy with the 90 minutes that I got and I’ll try to work from here.

Man United vs Spurs
Will Alderweireld be in the Tottenham team this weekend when they face Man United in the FA Cup semifinal?
Mauricio Pochettino rested Davinson Sanchez at Brighton, and the Colombian could replace the Belgian at Wembley.
