Thomas Partey sparks fresh injury concern at Arsenal

The midfielder was a last-minute scratch from his country’s latest starting XI

Arsenal star Thomas Partey has set pulses racing across the red half of north London late on Friday evening.

This comes amid the midfield all-rounder’s latest endeavours whilst on international duty with Ghana.

The Black Stars are currently locked in action, having made the trip to The Stade Océane for a friendly showdown with world no.1 Brazil.

Partey, as expected, was named as part of Ghana’s starting XI for the clash, slated to test his talents against fellow Premier League duo Casemiro and Lucas Paqueta in the middle of the park.

Just minutes before the opening whistle in Le Havre, though, Arsenal’s engine room star was pulled from his country’s line-up.

Concerns, in turn, quickly spread across the Gunners fanbase, ahead of a highly-anticipated North London Derby meeting with rivals Tottenham a week from Saturday.

And now, with the action well underway between Ghana and Brazil, an explanation for Partey’s absence has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of journalist Rahman Osman, who points towards the former Atletico Madrid star picking up a ‘knock’ during his country’s warm-up on Friday evening.
