Ten Hag makes Cristiano Ronaldo claim Manchester United fans will love

Erik ten Hag has been speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo following Manchester United’s latest outing.

Manchester United faced off with Sheriff in a Europa League tie on Thursday evening.

United headed into the game looking to bounce back from their opening group game loss to Real Sociedad.

And this is exactly what the Red Devils did, coming away with a 2-0 win on Thursday evening.

Jadon Sancho opened the scoring for Manchester United, whilst Cristiano Ronaldo added a second from 12 yards.

That goal was Ronaldo’s first in eight outings this season, though he has started a handful of matches from the bench.

Speaking after the game, though, Erik ten Hag stated that Ronaldo will score more goals once he gets up to full fitness:

“He will score more goals. He’s really close, when he gets more fitness he will score more.

“He’s totally committed to this project, totally committed to this team, totally involved, he also has connections that are coming around him and he is constructing connections so I’m happy with that.”

Ronaldo missed most of United’s 2022/23 pre-season as he was trying to force a move away from Old Trafford.

However, despite being offered to most clubs in the Champions League, the ageing forward could not find a suitor and he has been forced to stay at United until at least the January transfer window.
