Southampton team news vs Newcastle

Roméo Lavia

Lavia has been out of action since he picked up a hamstring injury at the end of August vs Chelsea.

However, he is now closing in on a return and there is a chance he may be in the squad vs Newcastle:

“In contention, yes. But we had this week where he had a problem with his knees. This happens often when you’re long out. Yesterday he was not training but I think it is quite likely he will be in the squad on Sunday,” Hasenhuttl said on Friday.

Armel Bella-Kotchap

Bella-Kotchap picked up a shoulder injury vs West Ham earlier this month.

Speaking on Friday, Hasenhuttl suggested the defender could be back for gameweek 16:

“He is also an option for the weekend. He is back in training and has trained everything and has shown no fear.”

Kyle Walker-Peters

Kyle Walker-Peters is unlikely to see a return until after the international break after picking up an injury vs Bournemouth.

Hasenhuttl ruled the right-back out of the Saints’ next few games when speaking ahead of Newcastle: “It’s gone from low to no. We have one week left and he is not training with us so I don’t think so.”

Tino Livramento

Livramento suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and remains out.

“Then we have only Tino as our only long-term injury,” Hasenhuttl said on October 27, suggesting the right-back will not be available any time soon.
