Southampton team news and predicted XI vs West Ham United

Saints still sit at the basecamp of the Premier League but mathematically are in with every chance of avoiding relegation should they find a late-season run of form, beginning with a clash against fellow relegation candidates West Ham United

Southampton Team News

  • Out: Armel Bella-Kotchap, Tino Livramento, Juan Larios
  • Doubt: Ché Adams

Rubén Sellés has brought some measure of hope to the south coast despite Southampton remaining in the Premier League cellar this season as the club once more finds itself on the precipice of a return to the Championship. But as football returns to England after the international break, there is an immediate opportunity to improve their situation in the table against a West Ham United outfit that is also in the bottom three and just one point ahead. A win for Saints would see them potentially climb out of the relegation zone, contingent on other results above them, but anything remains possible.

Sellés, unfortunately, remains without Tino Livramento and Juan Larios, though Livramento is approaching a return to training and could play a part in the run-in to the end of the season. Highly-touted young center-back Armel Bella-Kotchap is also unavailable through injury, while striker Ché Adams faces a late assessment to gauge any potential involvement.
