Scotland 1-3 England: Match report, player ratings, fan reaction & more

All the action from Hampden Park.

England faced off with Scotland in an international friendly on Tuesday evening for their final game of the current break.

Scotland have not beaten England since 1999 in any competition and Gareth Southgate will have been desperate for that run to continue this week after his side were held to a 1-1 draw with Ukraine last time out.

When all was said and done in Scotland, England came away with the win.

As has become the norm in these meetings, both sides struggled to create too much in the final third throughout most of the first half.

But England took the lead shortly after half an hour thanks to Phil Foden guiding in what appeared to be a Kyle Walker cross.

The Three Lions doubled their lead after 34 minutes via Jude Bellingham thanks to an Andy Robertson mistake.

England went in at the break 2-0 up and largely in control of the match. Gareth Southgate then decided to take off Marc Guehi for Harry Maguire at the interval to give Scotland a chance.

Maguire then scored an own goal in the 67th minute by Andy Robertson’s cross past Aaron Ramsdale.

Eberechi Eze should have restored England’s two-goal lead a few minutes later but he put his effort straight at Gunn.

England did score a third goal after 83 minutes to kill off the game when Jude Bellingham slipped a lovely ball into Harry Kane.
