Sadio Mane has followed up on the comments he made regarding him leaving Liverpool recently.

News broke recently that Sadio Mane is looking to leave Liverpool in the 2022 summer transfer window.

This comes with Mane now in the final year of his current Liverpool contract.

It is believed that Liverpool would demand more than €30m for Sadio Mane this summer and will only consider selling if a replacement is sourced.

Following these reports, Mane has caught the ire of many Liverpool fans for comments he made recently whilst away on international duty with Senegal.

Responding to a question that asked Mane's views on a poll that had been run about his future, the former Southampton winger said: "Like everyone else, I'm on social media and I see the comments. "Isn't it between 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese that want me to leave Liverpool? "I will do what they want. We will see soon! Don't be in a hurry because we'll see this together."

However, after Mane was accused by many of tainting his legacy as a Liverpool legend, he has since backtracked on those comments this weekend.

Speaking after scoring a hat-trick in Senegal's 3-1 win over Benin, the Liverpool star told Canal Plus: "I spoke yesterday while joking with a bit of humour and it was everywhere. I think we'll stop there. "Liverpool is a club I respect a lot. The fans adopted me since day one. Regarding the future, we'll see."

And whilst Mane may have made the original comments in jest, it does already appear to have soured many fans opinions of the winger.
