Cristiano Ronaldo has strongly indicated his time with Al-Nassr will come to an end following defeat in their final game of the season.

Ronaldo is out of contract next month and there is speculation around the Portugal superstar moving to a team that will participate in the Club World Cup.

The inaugural edition of the expanded tournament gets underway in the United States on June 14.

A move to Wydad Casablanca, who are one of 32 teams competing and who will face Manchester City and Juventus in the competition, has been reported as a possibility for Ronaldo.

Whether that comes to pass remains to be seen, but it seems apparent Ronaldo’s future will not be with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo was on target on Monday as Al-Nassr lost 3-2 to Al Fateh in their Saudi Pro League finale, missing out on qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite.

His goal took him to 25 for the season as he finished as the division’s top scorer.

But afterwards he wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Ronaldo has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al-Nassr since joining in 2023.

However, in that time the only trophy the club has won is the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
