Revealed: How Arsenal will replace William Saliba vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal will be without a key man vs Crystal Palace.

Arsenal lost to Sporting in the Europa League on Thursday evening. William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu picked up injuries from the game and are expected to be sidelined this weekend.

The Gunners host Crystal Palace on Sunday and can go eight points clear of Manchester City with a win.

However, they will likely have to do so without Saliba, who has been superb at the back this season.

And now, an insight into how Mikel Arteta plans to replace the Frenchman on Sunday has been provided.

According to football.london, Arsenal are likely to consider their options when it comes to replacing Saliba.

One of those options is that the Frenchman is fit. Reports suggested on Friday that there was still hope that Saliba would be fit for the Palace game.

But if not, Rob Holding is the most likely option to come into the XI as Takehiro Tomiyasu is injured, so Ben White is likely to remain at right-back.

Other than Holding, new signing Jakub Kiwior is left-footed and Mikel Arteta is unlikely to go with two-footed stoppers together.

Arteta also recently said that Holding has been ‘exceptional’ in training in recent months.
