Real Madrid boss Ancelotti speaks out over potential Barcelona switch

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has, on Friday, provided an insight into the chances of him taking up the managerial reins at arch rivals Barcelona.

Ancelotti, of course, is currently enjoying his 2nd stint in the Santiago Bernabeu dugout.

And what a spell it has proven to date.

Since being reappointed in the summer of 2021, the iconic Italian has racked up a La Liga title, Spanish Super Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Not only that, but further silverware looks likely in Spain’s capital come this season’s close, with Real still in the running for a Champions League and Copa del Rey double.

And yet, despite as much, speculation continues to circulate in the media that Ancelotti will likely be on the move next summer, upon the conclusion of his current terms.

Reports across the press have long pointed towards the Brazilian national team as a potential landing spot, with Ancelotti understood to have been identified as the first-choice managerial target on the part of the Selecao.

One post which he will not be taking up, either next summer or over the remaining years of his legendary career, however, comes in the form of that at Barcelona.

Speaking in a press conference on Friday, Ancelotti was drawn on the chances of him one day taking control of his current club’s most bitter rivals.

The Italian, however, was unwavering in his response, insisting that his love for Real makes such a move ‘impossible’:
